I know we have enough ruralcels and rightoids here to recommend me a new foldy knife

I lost my EDC PX foldy knife from back when OIF was still all the rage.

I need a new one, I'm not autismo enough to know about knives or knife companies so I come to you ruralcels and rightoids. I also don't trust /k/ommandos nor redditors on knives.

Only criteria for it is that it is foldy and not spring loaded because commiecuckcel.

Budget max is $200 now because I guess knife inflation.

Spend $20 and get an opinel lol. Solid knives that do an ok job for not much money. I've owned and used my No. 8 for around 15 years.

Yeah Opinel knives are great for the price. Well made and they comply with most state or country laws as you have to physically pull the blade out.

A buddy bought me one as a gift back in '05. Darn solid knife, and I still use it as my primary kitchen knife to this day.

Never heard of them, however their handles do appeal to some part of my brain that likes wood

Opinels are absolute classic solid folding knives for the man (or foid I guess) who uses their pocket knife on a daily basis.

They're not top tier or anything but they have a solid construction, good edge, and don't even look like a sperg knife on top of all that.

I occasionally do touch grass outdoors and they're cheap enough so I will definitely pick one or three for that free shipping. Plus I won't feel bad if I somehow lose it.

Thanks for the reccie

I never understood people who carried knives on them everyday. Like why? Do you live in a third world country or something?

Sometimes I need to open Jeff Bezos lootboxes when theres something expensive inside so I can't elbow drop them open.

Also I go camping occasionally, and in case I go full American Psycho and stab a homeless man to death. In minecraft.

Knives have shot up in price recently unfortunately. Under $150 would get you a Benchmade Bugout just barely, which is a very good knife but if you don't want to break the bank there are better options. I think the Spyderco Tenacious is around $50 now? All Spyderco knives look the same and just vary with blade material and the Tenacious is a fantastic knife. It was like $20 cheaper in the past but imo $50 is still a decent price. At that price point you're not going to find much better.

Oh, guess I'll bump up my budget to $200 then if they've shot up in price then.

Are Spydercos not a meme knife? I've never actually met anyone who wasn't an airsofter or a massive POG boot who owned a spyderco.

No, spyderco is definitely NOT a "meme" company. They produce some of the best production knives in the world and have for 40 years. Not all of them are great, they do collaborations with designers that are sometimes cheaper and they make some budget lines, but their expensive stuff is top of the line.

If you don't mind spending money on quality the Bugout really is a fantastic EDC knife. It's a lot of money but Benchmade knives are well made in general and they have great customer service.

And yeah Spyderco is legit if you don't mind their style. The Tenacious is on the low end of their price point because it's made in China but it's infinitely better than most other knives that come out of China. As you go up in price with them you get better blade steel and at some point they're made in the US as well.

Leatherman Charge+ TTi. What, are you getting into knife fights or just opening boxes? Get a real job that requires tools. It also has a really nice S30V knife.

Gonna go pick up a Benchmade Bugout. Its mostly for boxes, occassional outdoor junk, and stabbing homeless in alleys at night.

If you live on an island or coast or dive a lot get a Spyderco knife, they've got several that are rust immune

There's knives that are tools and knives that are decorations or maybe art objects. If you take a look at the kinds of knives people actually use they tend to be on the cheaper end because tools you use tend to break, get lost or otherwise ruined. I've got a $40 knife with a $40 leather sheathe, and I actually use those since I won't mind replacing them. I've also got a couple of fancy old knives, and those are relegated to hanging on the wall since they're worth more for their beauty or their sentimental value than as tools.

I hope you enjoyed my TEDx talk on knives.

get the one with the most flippiest and the coolest most bezzled handle and shit. That's what make a knife cool because you're never going to use it (and that's unironically a good thing (also your knife is gay)). Brandish if people think otherwise and ask them "what?". EZ

trust me, I'm an expert.

Is this really the right place to post this? Is this how you spend your Saturdays? If so, I'm not at all surprised.

I can't believe normal users have to explain the rules to a moderator of a subreddit of 800k+, you'd think of all the redditors here, we'd have some decent moderation. Thank GOD, that r/SubredditDrama has a userbase that is capable of policing themselves.

This has nothing to do with SRD, consider posting your inane, unfunny "meme" posts somewhere else.

Anyone else feel that this guy keeps overstepping his bounds?
