my son is FA and definitely ngmi and I couldn't be more proud:marseyhappytears:

My son has a crush visiting our home for a few days. In typical cringey mom mode, I made an off the cuff remark along the lines of "don't worry--dad and I will make ourselves scarce in case you want to make a move." He looked at me like I had two heads and said: "I would NEVER do that. What if she isn't interested in me? That would put her in a really uncomfortable position." I have never been happier about being called out by my kiddo.

Take heart--there are good men out there. The kids are alright.

EDIT to add: It's really shocking to me the lack of reading comprehension from male presenting redditors. The young woman is STAYING IN OUR HOUSE for 4 days with nowhere to go if she's not interested. Making a move (which really just meant confessing his feelings) would be inconsiderate AF and I really wish more men realized the position they put women in when they make their feelings clear. There is a very real power imbalance when someone is housing you--a move can be interpreted as "payment" or just plain old pressure. Do better buttholes.

This b-word is legit crazy wtf

1. Yelling at her dad because he didn't let her kid lick a puddle

When my son was a toddler, he was pretend licking a puddle. My father told him to stop, which of course he ignored, and then for real licked the puddle. My father raised his voice (not quite yelling) and said that if he does it again, he'll spank him. I lost my shit. Told dad that if he ever laid a hand on my kids, or even threatened to, he would never see them again. Finished up with "raising your voice/yelling is ONLY for true danger, like the kid is about to run into a busy street and you NEED to shock them into stopping, not something totally normal like licking a puddle."

This was 20 years ago and it still pisses me off.

2. Stay at home mom who hates cooking

I hate cooking. Hate everything about the process. I'm the least picky eater on the planet and as long as there are lots of fresh veggies involved, don't care what I eat. Because of some crazy life twists and turns, I ended up being a SAHM (LOOOOONNNNNG story) with super picky eater kids and husband who doesn't love leftovers. When he retired, he took over ALL shopping, prep, cooking AND cleaning. Yes, I won the lottery with this guy.

3. Self evident :marseyxd: !r-slurs one of us

i was bucked off a horse, without a helmet, and landed on my head. I was two and it was my father who put me on that darned horse. I'm fine (or so I like to think)
