Yes. We fund NATO more than the next 13 NATO members combined. Almost nobody follows the NATO requirements to spend >2% of GDP on national defense. Our "allies" aren't pulling their weight, because they already got what they wanted from our military, and they have little room to tax harder to increase defense spending because they already tax so aggressively.

How is that relevant? Yes European NATO members don't pull their weight compared to the US, that's just a fact. But I can guarantee if Putin lays eyes on Germany, the USA would be firing up the war machine before the first Russian boot hits German soil. Plus article 5 means it's Russia vs most of the world's most powerful military forces. If you look at what happens in Ukraine - which is among the poorest countries in Europe and not a NATO member - just imagine Russia vs NATO.
All of this is kinda irrelevant of course because nukes exist but my entire point is that the "Ukraine only does well because of western aid" argument is true but doesn't mean other countries would just crumble against a laughably inept Russian military

I'm generally too much of a chud to join the left, but more of a nrx-lite/post-rat style chud in policy, a lot of mainstream/populist rightoid style policies are politically and environmentally counterproductive (examples: abortion restrictions, refusal to address climate change accurately, going after the entire LGBTQ+ instead of just the TQ+, pointless vaxx seething and anti-electric seething, blanket anti-transhumanism). A lot of my policies/opinions would be considered political suicide, but that doesn't mean I have to join a side that also has relatively little in common with me. As for postwar aims, I would mainly join the side I hate the least rather than the side I like the most, but I would greatly appreciate a potential opportunity for ideas I am adjacent with to be no longer taboo (see your comment on the "neopaganism-equivalent" of a future chud government) and for society to no longer be founded on the expectation of increasing egalitarianism/permissiveness by default.
Answering this question has made me realize how much I dislike many of my fellow rightoids, and how infighting could end up being an issue if a war actually did happen (although ~80% of the non-deeply online will likely just follow their respective party line)

My take is that between leftoid anti-nuclear policies, and the whole "GOP development of massive inland cities away from the main coasts" thing, I gather that the plan is to work _around_ climate change instead of uprooting civilization to prevent it.
These are a part of the natalist maxxing sexual ethics underpinning chuddery - there's a reason "sodomy" was illegal even for straight couples. The primary dividing lines are "s*x as consensually pleasurable act" vs. "s*x as reproductive act" (left v. right) and "do human beings have inherent value despite genetic errors/inferiority" (which is where you get eugenicists v. christians).
