India needs to put up or shut up. They've been lagging behind China for well over two decades and yet they still think it's the 1980s. India has plenty of potential but its government is an absolute dumpster fire. This has less to do with democracy and everything to do with "Maharashtra Socialism", the legacy of which still results in obscene bureaucracy and governmental ossification. The best source of complaints about India are Indian expats/dual-citizens. I learned how to work with offshore Indian dev shops through other Indians, rofl.
India and China are very much alike in the sense that their own people know best how to manage their masses. That's basically how the British, a relatively small European island, managed to maintain control over one of the most populous regions of the planet.

I know "no true communist" is the meme all leftoids will jump to, but zero of the "communist" countries in Africa even begin to try to fit the definition at all. Their naming convention is a complete grift, because they needed public support during a revolution. At least other despotic shitholes try to throw up propaganda, but African shitholes don't even need kayfabe.

No, it usually comes with standard narratives like 'the mines belong to the people', never mind how the people would given the opportunity steal anything made of metal in the mines and render them inoperable. Poor countries are always more susceptible to communism, Russia and China weren't exactly developed superpowers either.
