And those are made up of thousands of people, men and now women who are all members of households. Ultimately the company you work for is comprised mostly of people in your state or province. It might be foreign owned, but these people live in your country. This idea the “government is not a household” is amazing to me, considering how much those on the left want to dictate, like a parent would, what is acceptable to think or say or do or own.

A big part of why the US can spend so lavishly is because of the dominance of the US dollar. Every time we print money, the US doesn't suffer as much inflation as it normally should, because the dollar is used globally as well, so the effects of inflation are spread across the global economy. We effectively tax the rest of the world.
We saw this exact effect during COVID. Everyone printed money like crazy, but America saw less inflation than other developed countries, because only America printed US Dollars.
Governments may not be household budgets, but the illusion of free money we have in America partly comes from our ability to redistribute value away from the world and towards ourselves.
