Sending in the military on election year when immigration IS a problem (in other states now, thanks to Abbott) is not going to help Biden with swing voters. He needs to handle this very carefully
I think if he sends feds to actually help hold down the border there he'll look good if they kick the feds out.
It's a decent political move to force Bidens hand in an election year, but Biden also has the ability to make Abbott look stupid if he's smart about it. Biden's admin might just try to score points with people who are already going to vote for him though, so it will be interesting to see how this goes down

I think that's where a lot of confusion comes from. Most of the border is state/private land. Very very little is federal. Texas can do what they want on their land and private people can allow Texas to fortify their land if they want. The dispute is over a tiny percentage of the border that the Supreme Court said Texas can't fortify
