I had one and it sucked. You'd have to shake it for like 2 minutes to get 30 seconds of low-power light that petered out because the actual energy storage was butt. I also had one that was powered by a little fly wheel that you drove by squeezing a lever, and that one was actually pretty cool. It only lit up when being worked, but it was reasonably bright and was designed in a way that you could actually utilize it as a flashlight and point it where you wanted to look.
