In Ontario landlords can't disallow pets.

It's up to the landlord what the rules or requirements are for possible tenants and they don't have to tell you why you were denied.

I think it’s reasonable to put this rule. A lot of landlords say no pets, and I would argue that a toddler is more of a risk damaging a rental than a cat would be.

Then problem now comes that families cannot rent anywhere. That becomes problematic, especially for single parents.

That's not the issue of the property owner. Especially those of us who have a rental unit in our own home, kids can be noisy and a lot of us would rather rent to professionals without children.

As an owner, your responsability is to rent so that people live there.

Honestly why are people upfront about their situation? As far as they’re concerned just tell them you’re a single, childless, petless renter and then once you sign all the papers move your family and dogs in. There’s not a thing they can do about it.

They can make your life real hard tho.

They can evict you for breaking the lease,refuse to sign another, when it’s time for renewal they can evict you for “landlord use of property” then just raise the rent for the next poor peepeesucker because they have to pay for the damages. Thus turning a “good” landlord into an “experienced” landlord that refuses children and pets because they got burned in the past.

I've had tenants with kids and some with pets. With there being major damage every single time, it is never again on both fronts going forward. I scour applicant social media accounts now for evidence of either pets or kids. Unless I am 100% confident there are neither, I deny the application.

The first strike against women will be to quarantine all of them in concentration camps. At these camps, the vast majority of the female population will be deliberately starved to death. That would be an efficient and fitting way to kill them all off. I would take great pleasure and satisfaction in condemning every single woman on earth to starve to death.
