Doctors are fricking weak nowadays

Had a previous resident cry on the phone because he saw somebody kill themselves. Welcome to medicine, shit happens. Only proper advice I could give was move on to the next patient. He's a doctor, we see lots of fricked up shit. Get over it and go back to your job. Just have a nurse clean up the mess.

I know. I've fought like 10 doctors, every one of them lost.

We generally call the descalation or putting ourselves out of harms way. Can't even remember how many times heroin addicts given narcan for overdose by EMTs have started fights.

What do you think of ophthalmologists?

Could've picked a more interesting field. Really depends if they're an MD. Many operate under another's license but still call themselves doctors.

Yeah you guys are a pack of cute twink kitties these days, doctor wouldn't even lance a small cyst on the back of my neck, the doctor recommended that I go down to the emergency room and waste everyone's time, neck yourselves pill pushers.

That's actually the correct advice. Whenever the neck is operated on there is significant risk. Let the surgeon deal with it and the ED physician can just get you pills to relieve the pain until surgery.

Can confirm. None of them man enough to write me an oxy prescription with unlimited refills :marseydepressed:

I think you would need to see a drug dealer for that. Even in older docs you get a 2 week with a call us requirement

How is that person ever going to make it? MAID is valid!

Read what I wrote above. Now picture in your head that I put a /s at the end. Good job sweaty! :marseygigaretard:

Patient bashed his face into a wall enough to kill himself but if you meant the doctor he won't make it. Basic doctoring courses teach you to be numb to everything and if you can't you're not going to make it.

Are there a high percentage of psychopath doctors?

Depends if you consider doctors who don't give a shit. I'd say the number is pretty low but our experiences kind of void our emotions.

Oh wow this is just like Gregs anatomy. Very spicy. I bet the next episode will be crazy.

Greys anatomy likes to show doctors in a positive light and milquetoast views. I haven't seen much of it since it focused more on drama and romance but presented basic cases. Didn't show the psychological impact of watching somebody actively killing themselves. That just ends up being experience in a real hospital.

Ha ha yeah you're definitely a jd. I bet you and terk are so cool together.

I've never seen the show but i assume it's scrubs.

Im more of a Cox. JD is too optimistic. During my IM residency we had to deal with arrogant surgeons so never found my Terk. Only found a hatred of surgeons.

You even have your lines down jd. Congrats.

I can't imagine ER docs being as happy as JD. We see the worst of the worst. We aren't happy go lucky PCPs.

No you don't. The medics see even the ones that don't make it to you and they see them in situ. Way to be up your own butt though.

Don't think I've ever heard a patient be called in situ before. We call them presenting patients. In situ is for OB/GYN or fluorescence molecular in the clinic.

I literally did a worst experience series on my main account ranging from lethal threats to patients offing themselves in my examination room.

It's not a medical term it's just Latin r-slur. I thought you doctors had to learn Latin and not just learn how it's used in medicine.

When my RN friend was put in the children's cancer ward, I think it messed him up for a while but he eventually got desensitized to it. I'm sure a lot of stuff is shocking and wears down your soul at first, but if you stick with it, you eventually get desensitized. In my professional opinion ofc.

I think it took me about 2 years for certain stuff like patients offing themselves. You really need to be desensitized by the time you become an attending because emotions can't impact your treatment. I actually have concerns because he's an attending now and was bothered by this. He has probably 20 patients to see that day and can't handle a simple suicide emotionally.
