Yeah they're insane. Somehow Kurosawa makes feudal Japan much more vivid and his movies are black & white. The game barely looks like a period thing, more like any other generic RPG

Thing about Kurosawa he is more popular in the west than in Japan and during his time he was criticised for being too western. He is like the cowboy bebop anime that is loved in the west and is viewed meh in Japan. Like every country has such guy like that dude who wrote Lolita was straight banned in Soviet Union. People also romantize other people from other countries like Japan love imagining average frogs thinking average frog know who Balzac, Dumas and Flaubert are and read all their books.
