A subreddit for people who got fricked from Lasek.

So there's about a 1/20 complication rate from laser eye surgery, which is a lot worse than I thought. When it goes great, it's amazing, but for the unlucky few who get serious side effects, it apparently can get so bad you can turn suicidal.

Anyway, don't do this shit until you're ok with being the percentage it seems to seriously frick over for life.

:#marseyflushzoom:

Edit: I realize now i've called it lasik and lasek interchangeably and without any differentiation when i should have said β€œall laser eye surgery”. Anyway, that sub is for anyone who got complications from any laser eye surgery, not just lasik. While I am disturbed by most dramacels I don't wish a lifetime of chronic eye issues on anyone here, so I would advise you to investigate what could happen to you if you're going to pursue it. If you're one of the unlucky few that ends up royally fricked, don't forget to post about it here so we can support/laugh at you.

One of my ex husbands got lasik and had complications. For some nerd reasons I can't remember it left all contacts out of the question and no rx glasses ever really worked well for him and he was left legally blind due to his nearsightedness.

I still laugh about it sometimes.

My mom had lasik when it was manual,

my dad, step-mom, and myself got it with comp-assist, and literally zero problems.

Lasik complications are like back-alley abortion issues tbh

Lmao why tf are they so similar sounding. Seems like both are high risk though.

The intraoperative complication rate of Laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) has been reported to be in between 0.7-6.6%

That's a bit of a gap lmao. All the sources are all over the place in terms of numbers.

I'll stick to glasses because I'm cheap af, so doesn't matter to me.

I stick to glasses because it keeps the attractive women from sexually assaulting me. We all have our reasons.
