A subreddit for people who got fricked from Lasek.

So there's about a 1/20 complication rate from laser eye surgery, which is a lot worse than I thought. When it goes great, it's amazing, but for the unlucky few who get serious side effects, it apparently can get so bad you can turn suicidal.

Anyway, don't do this shit until you're ok with being the percentage it seems to seriously frick over for life.

:#marseyflushzoom:

Edit: I realize now i've called it lasik and lasek interchangeably and without any differentiation when i should have said โ€œall laser eye surgeryโ€. Anyway, that sub is for anyone who got complications from any laser eye surgery, not just lasik. While I am disturbed by most dramacels I don't wish a lifetime of chronic eye issues on anyone here, so I would advise you to investigate what could happen to you if you're going to pursue it. If you're one of the unlucky few that ends up royally fricked, don't forget to post about it here so we can support/laugh at you.

Man, it's honestly not hard to get it confused unless your currently and actively researching. Sounds like Lasek came up after with similar name to gank the stupid people looking for lasik.

AFAIK it's the same laser it just differs in how they open the flap up. You can't do LASIK if your eye has any scratches etc.

By all means check success stats but I think you should hope for LASIK and that should be the standard one. After LASIK you go home, have a nap and wake up feeling fine with 20/20 vision.

After LASEK you spend 48 hours in pain in the dark and then it can take weeks or months to fully dial in. Maybe no driving for two weeks either depending on how lucky you are.

This is a truly disgusting attempt to hide :marseyraging: the side effects of the original surgical procedure from the general public.

I think one of the big factors here is "don't go to the guy who advertises the cheapest price per-eye, in 4-color printed mailed flyers"

Any of you frickers in Bay Area, I recommend these nerds.

https://www.2020eyesite.com/

They do LASIK for the highly paid sportcels and other mildly famous people as seen here

Exactly. And don't go to the guy who gets a lot of business from influencers.

Also, to my gal pals and gay friends who want to look good, always go to the Real Self app and check out the doctors.

Realself.com is where all people go to check out reviews for plastic surgeons. If any dramacel has an account there, I'm certain you can find dramatic reviews for botched boobjobs, rhinoplasties, neovaginas and the like.

It's actually better to go to that guy because you can do one eye first and see how it goes :taysmart:

Yup, same here. I've heard some stories but after browsing for about 30 mins, has me reconsidering it as well. Normally not so paranoid but man, the complications that can happen are really worrying.
