Californians sneeding over AB205, bill designed to raise power bills even higher, proportional to income. :marseyxd:

Didn't see any drama threads about this. Governor Newsom signed a bill that would raise utility bills for Californians based on income.

Under $28,000 income β€” $24 per month

$28,000 to $69,000 income β€” $34 per month

$69,000 to $180,000 income –$73 per month

Over $180,000 income β€” $128 per month

This is on top of current utility rates.

Commiefornia Redditors in the thread explain they're happy to pay the increases while others are screaming for the heads of PG&E execs (and a few for the legislators who actually passed this lol)

Solar users are irate that they are also going to be charged regardless

California is somehow the most r-slurred successful place in the world where everyday feels like they are succeeding in spite of being themselves but somehow everything works out the more r-slurred they get.

California is a case study in how none of us actually know how things work because common sense dictates that California should have crashed and burned 30 years ago yet somehow it didn't.

Crashed? Not yet.

Burned? They're actively working on it.

And yet their economy is still growing at a faster rate than whatever shit hole you happen to live in despite already being more developed. Yet major insurance companies don't offer new policies on property anymore. Truly an enigma.

It's the only place in the English speaking world where you have year-round perfect weather. That's the secret. Rich and important people will take a pay cut to never even be aware snow exists or that you can have months of dreary rain.

Yup. Has a β€œgreat” climate, which honestly is too fricking hot imho or overcast ( unless you're in the Bay Area, Tahoe, or San Diego.) I actually hate CA weather everywhere else outside of those spots, which are just about perfect compared to pretty much the entire rest of the world. But the rest is still great for agriculture and the entertainment industry. And politicians can take advantage of it by passing the worst legislation possible, decade after decade.

I will say they're only outmatched by Illinois and New Jersey at this point in terms of mind boggling stupid moves, with Washington a close second.
