Come to think of it I wonder how much damage unions did to themselves by aligning themselves with broadly left-wing politics (anything from big-d Democrats to proper communists)... Like, why would an Alabama factory worker pay money(!) to sign up to an organization that detests literally every political and social position he holds?

Union employees objectively earn more on average lol. Unions support democrats because democrats are more supportive of unions, it isnt really rocket science.
If said alabama worker cares more about his low IQ conservative views than making more money thats his choice, just like its my choice to view him as r-slurred.
That being said id guess they already have pretty good benefits as euro companies are leaps and bounds ahead of american ones in these areas.

Lmao no. I work with oil refineries that are union and non union and the nonunion ones make more money and are significantly happier at their job because they don't have to work with idiots who deserve to be fired
My company poaches employees mainly from union sites because the good workers want a better work environment. Rarely do nonunion sites have guys willing to leave

It really depends on the job. Skilled and scarce labor can negotiate higher and job hop individually. The average line worker, teacher, cop, lifeguard is generally better off using the union to extract more gibs.

Not to mention a union, like all other organizations, have a profit motive under capitalism. A union, by game theory, would rather lose their constituents money if it meant the union gained more capital. It's like AN HOA at best

Video game union activists are left wing SJWs. Their stated platforms are to promote dei shit, fight white supremacy etc etc. the losers at my company that tried to get a union going were promoting a specific rule that former police or military would be explicitly banned from being able to join.
