I think a lot of these people acting shocked by this arc are johnny-come-latelys who watched some of Rekieta's trial streams and assumed that was what he was always like but it's hard to say for sure. The guy was pretty open about being a drunken r-slur unless you were blinded by some para-social bs. I stopped watching him early-kickvic era when it was so obvious that the guy was disingenuous scum who'd sell you up the river for superchats even I noticed it.

I hadn't watched anything of his since the Rittenhouse trial, and the occasional updates on him from MATI were gobsmacking.

He had even bigger success during the Amber Heard trial and was supposedly in talks to get a proper TV show talking about law in layman terms. He was on the cusp of incomprehensible levels of success and just pissed it all away in a few years.
