The tipping question splits the antiwork subreddit in two. "If you can’t afford to tip. Stay home. You’re too poor to go out." :usa: :gigachad:

What about at McDonalds? How much should I tip for a $5 meal?

Wait, you guys haven't been tipping your McDonalds drive-thru cashier 15%?

please explain why Ineed to voluntarily give my hard earned wages to someone else who chooses to remain in this profession?

:marseyhmm:

Tipped workers are the ones holding back wages because they can make much more as tipped workers. And why should the waiter who carries the food to you get 20% of the total, while the cook who prepared the food and the dishwasher who washes the plates and the cleaner who cleaned the place get 0%? This is just ridiculous entitlement.

Yep, thanks guy - there's a reason servers don't fight harder for eliminating tipping. Most days they can barely put in an order correctly, why did anyone ever expect class solidarity?

RIP antiwork

[Waiters] do way more then most people think. Stuff most people couldn’t do.

When I was younger…like until I was maybe in my early 20s, I thought all waiters were grad students 🤦🏼‍♀️ I didn’t realize people did it for a “career”.

I met a guy who would wait tables for about 6 months per year at a very upscale restaurant in a tourist destination, clear $75k+ in tips and then spend the rest of the year doing nothing.

There's no point to this story I just want any waitcels who read this to know they're doing it wrong.

I knew a dude who worked in a marina on rich people's yachts. He said it was pretty great, you just fricked around for the 90% of the time the boat wasn't being used. Apparently the richer they were, the higher the chance 1 week into a 4 week vacation the dude would get called back and then you had even less work to do. That being said the engineer-cells who worked on the boats had shit lifes cause salt water is a b-word to anything mechanical or electrical.

after years of having a boat my father still has ghost electric drain somewhere. without fail we will put the boat in the first trip of the year and the batteries will be dead.

Callback to the post about fatties complaining they're too wide to pass through restaurant tables without bumping into people, that's the "stuff most people couldn't do".

It's really only hard for fat and socially r-slurred redditors, half the job is just being charming, the other half is moving quickly. Seen a lot of autists start crying in the middle of service cause they couldn't even do that
