There is a particular strata of pet ownership that is equivalent to a mental disorder. You reach it when you start equivocating non-human life to human life. (-7)

I have a lot of friends who unironically celebrate National Dog Mom's Day (the second Saturday each May) and actively maintain social media accounts for their pets. It's what you do when there is not much going on in your life. (-1)

Great observation. The more they oppose having children the more likely they have a pet. Yes, they are suppressing their urge to parent and coping with pets. They lack self awareness. The rise of antinatalism along with pet ownership in western society is not a coincidence. (-5)

You'll need that money:) since you'll be alone for a decade or two being cared for by people who hate you.ย  (-2)

See I think you are being open and honestly about your resentment towards child free people. I appreciate that you are honest of being hateful and jealous rather than the standard where people just pretend to be nice but are secretly bad mouthing you...Now then do you hate me because you are jealous, or do you take my personal choice as a condemnation of your choice? There are so many shitty dogs out there. I don't believe people like you are holding on to this belief without any hint of misanthropy. I'm sad for whatever experiences you had that make you believe this, but happy for you to have found some solace in your pets. Still, I strongly disagree. Dogs can be awesome and people can be awful, but dogs don't even come close to being as great as people can be. (-3)

There aren't any shitty dogs. There are plenty of shitty owners.Just like there are plenty of shitty parents who raise shitty kids. (1)

Idk man, there's a limit to how responsible you are for your dog. I've never seen a dog rack up insane gambling debts and show up at your house for money, screaming to be let in and threatening violence. I've seen it twice with wasteman sons. (2)

I used to laugh at people like this because it's so obviously wrong that caring for a dog is anything like caring for a child. But the amount of joy and fulfillment I get from taking care of my child is so much more than what I get from caring from my dog (who is awesome and I love!) that I now just feel deeply sad that for whatever reason they aren't having the baby experience.
