Its just assembly is the basest form of industrialization third world shitholes get cause they don't have anything for upstream production all they have is cheap labour and now Europe is getting assembly plants :marseyxd: Its just a symbol of being totally economically subservient. I mean toyota etc have foreign plants but they genuinely build the whole car there they don't have an assembly line of coolies screwdriving together prefabricated parts. I don't think assembly even gets the tax exemption here, that's why all the foreign ICE makers set up India plants. It shouldn't, it'd be a minute part of value addition. If you're going to put up tariffs to your market don't bend the knee at assembly lmao.

The only Chinese :marseyxi: manufacturers with presence here already are Geely and SAIC who do engineering and low volume production here. If you're an automotive engineer :marseythebuilder: you've got a huge selection of companies to work for here already
