Military coup is underway in Bolivia :marseyletsgo: :marseycomrade: :marseyhappening:

I know, I know. The BBC is not a reliable source, cope.

I have no idea why they are doing this but former commie leader and American hater Evo Morales has denounced it so it must be a good thing. Hopefully it leads to a lot of helicopter rides for leftist scum.

This can't possibly be happening because CNN isn't reporting on it. Aren't they supposed to be a 24 hour news channel? :marseysipping:

The military officer in charge of the troops which took over central La Paz, General Juan José Zúñiga, said he recognised President Arce "for the moment" but that there would be a change of ministers and cabinet.

Very common in military coups. They don't want to take over and become dictator. That would be a lot of work. They just want to step in and overrule the civilian government whenever they feel like it.

Depends, the Brazilian Military was very eager to rule (1964-1985). The problem is that full military juntas lack legitimacy so they're more like “provisional governments”, they need a civilian cabinet and a political party support in order to perpetuate for decades. The Brazilian Regime was an hybrid, that's how it lasted for so long.

CNN is fully infotainment and only cares about interesting, clickable things. BBC has about a year left on their contract where they force bongs to pay for them, so they have a faint flicker of real journ*lism left and sometimes just report on things that happened because they happened (as long as it doesn't criticize the existence of the royal family too much.)
