Think 1 billion people all buying a new car every ten minutes. Then the r-slurred jeet who came up with this scenario informs the customer's management that the application is unacceptably slow and unstable. The current users (around 10% of the total user base) are happy with the system, everything is smooth and snappy, but because of that fricking streetshitter the customer's CEO doesn't want to scale up and decommission the old system, but instead scrap the perfectly fine product we've been working on for years.
