Just because it was interpreted doesn't mean that what the Bible says. Look up the original then, it's pretty much the same meaning just different words lol. And also the original Greek and Hebrew and even Aramaic translations, it said "man", not "boy." It had nothing to do with pedophilia and everything to do with homosexuality. Homosexuality is also denounced multiple times in other passages in the Bible, so even if the passage in Leviticus did say "boy" instead of "man" (which it doesn't) there are still all the other passages denouncing homosexual acts in both the new and old testaments. In fact, Jews take that part so seriously that boys are not even permitted to share beds with each other, because the exact wording translated today is "not lie with a man as with a woman", so many Jews apply that to mean lying next to each other as well. The people who started that rumor about it being "boy" most likely were blatantly lying because they wish the Bible didn't denounce their life... (1)

I admit I was incorrect about the boy statement, I heard it from someone who claimed to know what they were talking about (apparently not). But again, it's outdated. It's likely only a rule because way back when, butt stuff was a major disease spreader and would kill. It may be because of my autism but Ireally don't understand people's reactions to having an age gap. My partner is 9 years older than I am and I met her when I was 22; people are less weirded out by it because of our genders, quite obviously, but it's still been brought up. It'll be 11 years this year. But like, when OP met her husband, she was a grown butt adult. Likely with a job, bills, responsibilities, etc. She could have been drafted or enlisted, and died in horrific ways. She could vote, smoke, drink, do drugs, get married, have kids, get tattoos, make porn, get a loan, gamble, lose everything, go homeless and be abandoned by the system, buy weapons, be tried as an adult, go to prison, (depending on jurisdiction) be sentenced to life or death, be an elected official, be a judge, etc., etc.For ALL OF THAT she's adult enough. But no the line is deciding to be in a relationship with somebody who is significantly older? If they didn't start out as a gay couple you people would be ... (-2)
