Yeah Olympians get frick all in most countries. Your only real hope is to get gold in one of the popular events and multiple of them but aside from that in most cases you're shit out of luck. If your country remembers your existence outside of those events it's only ever for this and the next Olympic year. The rest of the cycle in between you're often on your own.
