I'm not the hiring manager. The hiring manager is my direct report, but the final say will be hers. Everyone on her team seemed to really like this candidate and truth be told I don't have to interact extensively with this candidate. It's hard to read someone in an interview and she may be a perfectly fine employee, but I feel like it's going to introduce a new level of groomercord into my organization that wasn't there before. However, I'm really concerned that if I even infer that having to balance using they/them with the very difficult and technical work we already do is adding another level of demand to the organization, I'll be viewed as something-phobic. Who knows, maybe my brain just can't keep up with all these pronoun games because I don't want to keep up. Maybe this isn't an issue for the team.

She has the power to dodge this bullet but won't do it. Foid managers are useless

We’re doing drugs. If i wanted to hear β€œdon’t do it man” or any other sort of social stigma about wanting to put meth in my butt I would have asked my mom what her thoughts were. Obviously if I’m ready to put meth in my butt and I want to know whether or not I should take a shit first, I’ve already made up my mind. It’s going up there.
