Anyone notice how Wikipedians have revamped the John Money page?

https://x.com/ErinInTheMorn/status/1747688197868413291

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Money

It went from "most influential doctor ever" to "every train hates him (ignore how we still cite him)"

Also

"John Money is proof you cant change a trans person's identity"

The kid wasnt even trans! The kid was cisgender, the activists still call the kid trans

Despite widespread popular belief, Money did not coin the term gender identity

source

And yet if you read the source, you'll find that the first definition of "gender identity" is explicitly based on sexual reality compared to Money's definition which more closely resembles gender ideology. Compare Stoller and Greenson's definitions

Gender identity is the sense of knowing to which s*x one belongs, that is, the awareness 'I am a male' or 'I am a female'

Gender identity refers to one's sense of being a member of a particular s*x; it is expressed clinically in the awareness of being a man or a male in distinction to being a woman or a female.

vs Money's

The sameness, unity, and persistence of one's individuality as male or female (or ambivalent), in greater or lesser degree, especially as experienced in self-awareness and behavior. Gender identity is the private experience of gender role, and gender role is the public expression of gender identity.

He does claim that someone else came up with the term (presumably with that definition), but also implies that she did so in private correspondences with him which would explain why no one else was able to find it.

Gender identity, to the best of my knowledge, was first proposed by Evelyn Hooker. I recall its appearance in an exchange of correspondence I had with her in reference to her homosexual studies.

These freaks think it's OK to lie to you. John Money technically didn't invent the term, but for all intents and purposes he did.
