I think its a combination of the general zeitgeist, with the 24h news cycle just exhaustinh itself to the point where people start to not care, general political radicalisation from the fragmentation of society accelerated by social media, the general cracks in the neoliberal system becoming more and more impossible to ignore, and finally trump himself being so crass and uncaring about any accusations that nothing sticks to him, just because he acts different from the established political class.
People know the apiel politicians do when theres a scandal, and dont buy any of it anymore. And they have completely lost trust in politicians.
