Modern political discourse. As long as the comment agrees with specific politics of a big enough group it can be bunch of incoherent rambling and will still get approval.

That's really the funniest thing, isn't it? Trump keeps saying and doing things that would've sank any politician pre-2010, Democrats keep circlejerking about how this time he's definitely finished, and his base just keeps on not caring. It's like they're talking about two completely different people with no connection to each other,

I think its a combination of the general zeitgeist, with the 24h news cycle just exhaustinh itself to the point where people start to not care, general political radicalisation from the fragmentation of society accelerated by social media, the general cracks in the neoliberal system becoming more and more impossible to ignore, and finally trump himself being so crass and uncaring about any accusations that nothing sticks to him, just because he acts different from the established political class.
People know the apiel politicians do when theres a scandal, and dont buy any of it anymore. And they have completely lost trust in politicians. Trump reacts completely different, and even though he doesnt materially disprove anything or act well, the simple fact that its different from politicians is enough for many people.
