I've read half of the books but I can't keep up with why they're so mad.
I'm mad because:
- They BLACKED.COM every second character.
- There's a country called "Shienar" which is based on Japan and the main "Shienarans" are Asian actors speaking with Rice accents. But then they DIVERSIFY Shienar by making half their citizens Wh*te or Indian. Do they speak with an Asian accent? No. Why? Shut up, that's why.
Why the autists are mad:
- Magic is either "Saidar" or "Saidin". The DRAGON REBORN uses Saidin. What's the difference? Saidar is Foid magic. Saidin is man juice. Therefore the DRAGON REBORN must be a man. But in the show they're like "whoooa it might be those brave brown women who could be the DRAGON REBORN"
- LAN "GigaChad" Mangradogradagonon went from an Ice Cold killer to a cute asian Twink BF who doesn't do much.
- Lord Agelmar went from some hero who held back the Trolls for years to saying 'dear sister you were right about everything I'm a dumb man lol'
- Perrin is just so fricking useless and annoying
- Matt is like 'bye, lol, lmao'

It's funny watching everyone on reddit come around. Episode one if you said anything about negative you basically just got banned from r/fantasy and r/WoT. The writing was all over the wall.
I don't understand why companies do this. Why throw $70 million at a project and then hire some Twitter sperg writer who ruins the story? It's not hard to make an adaptation, you just need to trim some fat and follow the plot. You're making a movie out of it because the story is good. That's all they did in game of thrones until they ran out of books and it worked great.
But really, ruining it for some girlpower shit? Blacking characters? Why? It clearly isn't for money. Honestly makes you wonder if ((((something)))) is going on.
Also r/WoT is already suggesting the negative reviews are from brigaders lol

GoT season 1 was the perfect example of this. I watched the show first, THEN I read the book. While reading I was thinking "holy shit, this is like reading the script for the show"

It's maddening because it worked so well, but yet for some reason other adaptations still insist on changing the plot. The simple truth is that directors are just bad authors. Writers who suck but have good connections end up working for Hollywood. This whole mess is so r-slurred, it just doesn't make sense. Why would you allow something like this to happen to an insanely expensive product? Why would you sabotage yourselves? Is there no oversight? Are these people just completely out of touch with reality? All they needed to do was follow the darn story!
