Who actually wants to watch three women stand around and talk about football? I do not. pic.twitter.com/JhSqQsTJC1

For me sports is entertainment first and foremost so to be honest, I would rather listen to someone who barely understands the sport but is fun to listen to than to somebody who understands the sport well and is boring. Like, maybe Mina Kimes or whoever understands Xs and Os better than Bill Simmons does, I have no idea if she does or doesn't because I don't understand them well myself, but I find it more entertaining to listen to Bill Simmons. Not because he's a man, although having a deeper as opposed to a higher-pitched voice does help make podcasts a better listen in my opinion, but because he's just more entertaining.
Zach Lowe is a man but I generally have little desire to listen to his relatively serious attempts to break down possible trades or whatever, meanwhile I find it kind of entertaining to listen to Bill Simmons talk about trades and weird gambling maneuvers even though I literally don't understand the majority of what the frick he is talking about because I don't gamble and I have no idea how sports contracts work. I just find it entertaining and soothing to listen to him ramble. I already spend a lot of my energy doing serious, important things. When it comes to sports I just want to relax, watch people do some cool shit on the field, and listen to charismatic people give hot takes and make up narratives.

I don't like sports but I like to watch Charles Barkley commentary clips. Not just the big women churro joke compilations either.
