This is really highlighting the boundary between elites and normal people across parties. Because the "this is horrible how could anyone celebrate the killing of a CEO?!?" folks are all on the side of the current system and they are all very obviously disconnected from the reality of the majority of Americans.
tbh to me it just highlights how r-slurred people are
they're like "nooo health insurance should never deny coverage" but when their premiums double again to pay for it they'll be like "nooo health insurance premiums cost too much"
like there's legitimate reasons to be upset over the US healthcare industry but "sometimes claims get denied" isn't one of them and shows they have no idea wtf they're talking about
reminder that the overwhelming majority of premiums are paid out in claims and in fact at least 80% must be paid out this way under ACA, leaving at most 20% to pay for everything else (all employees, computer/network services, legal fees, etc.) with profit being whatever is leftover. this means if you somehow eliminated for-profit health insurance and switched the whole thing over to the govt and there were NO additional inefficiencies in doing so and NO transfer costs, at most you'd shave off like... 10% off premiums... same coverage just a bit less in premiums
"sometimes claims get denied" is such an r-slured way to describe what's going on
What UHC pulled with medicare advantage plans and AI-driven coverage denials for post-acute care should be criminal. My mother-in-law was denied post-fall care by UHC and she ended up dying of a stroke due to complications because UHC repeatedly denied needed care.
All you "hurr durr that's how healthcare works if you don't like it it's because you don't understand" are just as wrong and fricking insufferable as the Democrats who tried to downplay the border problem, as though it didn't exist. How about you frick off.
is a legitimate issue but it's not what the midwits are talking about
AI-driven coverage denials
literally all of these large insurers have computer systems to automatically flag/deny shit, bb if they needed to hire a human to fully investigate every last denial the policy holders are gonna have to pay for that
if you're bitching that it's using """AI""" versus any other computer algorithm then ur r-slurred bb
All you "hurr durr that's how healthcare works if you don't like it it's because you don't understand"
let's be real most of the people bitching are complaining that healthcare costs so much, that's the complaint full stop.
they think it costs so much because health insurance companies are evil when in reality the doctors, pharma industry, and medical device salesmen are a much larger part of the problem yet they get a pass (well people used to hate the pharma industry but that seems to have evaporated because they're heckin wholesome heroes for making a covid vaccine and selling it for gobs of money)
says the person gargling the balls of some trust fund failson lmaooo
it's okay bb i'm sure all the r-slurs on reddit/twitter/rdrama are totally talking about some reasonable changes to the claim denial system that UHC uses and not just bitching because they're poor
