Do bluesky tards not realize that part of twitter having the social power that it does is because it's a centralized platform that connects everyone to everyone else, and how voluntarily siloing yourself and oomfies with blocklists makes that impossible? Twitter got people fired and overthrew governments in the mid-east by having a handful of idiots tweet some incendiary thing and then forcing EVERYONE to see it by just a few degrees of separation with retweets. You only needed the smallest amount of tipping the scales to set the agenda because the exponential growth would magnify small differences in growth rate. That would then force journ*lists to write about it because "it's what everyone's talking about" - technically true because everyone was on twitter, saw it, and gave it a residual amount of engagement. Whereas on the buttefly site a hot take gets the reach of a wet fart and can only be credibly spun as "a random r-slur says." It's extra funny because we already saw this exact thing happen on mastodon, the only difference was BS tried to prop itself up with clout by starting out as invite only.

I think that Bluesky users generally do recognize that it's more of a hugbox and less of an influential platform. There's constant Bluesky threads which go like "noooo leave Twitter, you're financing Elon" "noooo I have to stay on Twitter to help fight The Good Fight" "noooo Twitter's not as relevant anymore" "yeeees but it's still relevant".

I think the ones that move don't even expect to stay, they're just doing it temporarily as a virtue signal
