Redditors reminisce on lockdowns

https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/s/SJxgy4vKRP

It really showed the fakeness of modern life

Waking up and going into the office was totally unnecessary

Yet this single action is how most people define their adult life

:#marseybigbrain:

Not feeling bad for sitting in my apartment all day and night. No FOMO

True! The pandemic was the golden age of guilt-free laziness

My "too lazy to go grocery shopping and just having them delivered to my porch" went from "lazy and antisocial" to "doing my civic duty."

forced relaxation. god, it was so nice to not feel guilty for being unproductive for a little while.

:#marseyantiwork:

Staying home and not being judged for it.

Also masks because I like hiding my face.

:#marseypaperbag:

Nothing at all. It was bullshit.

The only people who liked it were basement dweller losers who finally could drag everyone else to their miserable level.

Yeah, Reddit is full of a social outcasts whose lives didn't change drastically but it gave them the excuse that the reason they weren't going out and interacting with other people in person was a global pandemic. For the rest of us it was a miserable experience at absolute best.

Someone pointed out in that thread that you can see the disparity in the lives of white collar workers and blue collar workers, based on how the remember the pandemic.

People like me, who were essential, didn't even get the 2 weeks vacation that most got. The only thing that changed was I had less traffic to deal with, and had to wear a mask everywhere. I still had to go to work everyday, still had to deal with the bullshit, and it was made more obnoxious by the WFH people being even more annoying about their power being out than normal.

I worked more at the office during Covid than before. Since I was an outside sales for an "essential business" we definitely were essential but my old micromanager was just a c*nt.

Put up with a lot of bull shit and definitely was eye opening to see how much of it was non-sense and theater but I had to go along with it.

When I got Covid my boss got pissy and said it was cause I went to a bar. Like we were supposed to treat Covid like bull shit at the office but god forbid we do the same at home

I remember working construction in 90 degree weather, wearing a mask. It wasn't that bad.

It's truly a struggle being a zoomer moid and knowing that for any given woman your age you interact with there's a decent chance she sells titty pictures online.

Insane to me how many young women just casually do shit like that as if it's no big deal. Can't believe it's been so normalized.

>period panties are 5x

I wouldn't know because I'm not a disgusting rentoid. I have house and car projects to do on my days off. That garage air conditioner isn't gonna install itself.

God made football so you can have 3 hours of relaxation every week for part of the year.

Otherwise you should have shit to do.

1. Cops stopped giving out inspection sticker tickets so I went 3 years with out an inspection. They also basically stopped pulling over anyone around Houston unless you were being a complete butt on the road.

2. Porch beers and open container was very acceptable. Loved walking the dog with cocktail and seeing everyone else in the hood do the same. Wish that stuck around

It's legal in my town, but in practice no one does it outside of sporting events, parks, concerts and stuff.

It was a pain in the butt because I still went out and worked like normal but instead I had to call ahead or order everything online instead of just walking into places to get supplies and stuff I need for the farm.
