trump is not going to drop elon. elon is the only reason he won the election. elon could shout from the rooftops about loving indian peepee and trump would be like "hes a strange fellow but we love him dont we folks yes we do we love him bigly"

when culture war topics are the biggest wedge issues and the biggest social media platform in the world is a rightoid echo chamber i think that has a pretty strong effect on election outcomes. elon being a billionaire donating a frickton of money also had a large impact. i do not see a world where trump wins if elon didn't buy twitter. !nonchuds !poll_voters (would ping chuds but i did a big goomble on christmas and crashed out)
Would trump have won without elon?

Incumbents lost around the globe, including the incumbent rightoid parties in Poland, Australia, and the UK. The Democrats lost for the same reason the other incumbents lost: the economy sucks

Trump didn't win, the Dems lost by not putting up any credible candidate in my entire fricking boomer lifetime other than Obama. And I guess Clinton but he was so mixed up in corruption he destroyed the brand for a generation.
They've been pretty peepeeless on domestic issues and completely in-your-face "I am a palace eunuch, I'm wearing the uniform with the little green hat" peepeeless about foreign policy all this time.
I was brought up center-left, I voted for them year after year but they never delivered on anything I gave a shit about. Why? Half of it was because Republicans are traitors who have actively tried to burn this country down, but half is because they will not fight for anything. I mean, Jesus Fricking Christ, there were so many lines of attack on Trump they could have used in 2016:
he's demented
he was always an r-slur
he's from New York
he talks like a strag
The Democratic Party chose that the last 3 "most important" elections were less important than using tactics like this that I use against you r-slurred East Coast cute twinks every day.
Totally destroys voter turnout. And this is where the Dems really lost. They thought with their New York donors and the blacks, who they treated as a prophet once said as "BIPOC cattle", they would win every election. Well it turns out that New York is full of scumbags from all over the world and black people aren't cattle. They're human beings goddammit and they're not satisfied with being represented by BET and Tupac and wigger visions of what they should want.

I voted yes, but the election would have been closer. It already favored Republicans. I think the biggest issue would still be inflation. Bussing illegals to blue states shifted people right on the border. The progressives overplayed their hand particularly from 20-22 and people got sick of them. The they/them ad was just a cherry on top.

Not the thing where the dems wanted a cackling BIPOCette to be president?
Even was Biden going around wearing a red hat, you think that was because of inflation?

That definitely had something to do with it too, see point 3. Kamala was the bone to the progs in 2020. But yes inflation and the general state of the economy had a good chunk of it.

X isn't a rightoid echo chamber, it has plenty of leftoids. What it is, mainly, is an engagement bait chamber. This goes for both the leftoids and the rightoids on there. The ratio of grifters to people who actually are trying to have a real discussion is very high.

I think he would have still won because Harris was so hated but it might have been a close win. It's too hard to say for sure though because X has been a pretty big deal for him. I do think Trump would have no qualms chucking Elon into the trash if it protected his own reputation with his fans. Trump really cares about how his fans view him and his legacy

I'm pretty sure this thing will all blow over in two weeks. Democrats will probably win the midterms for some r-slurred reason unless Trump does something amazing tho.

They are practically guaranteed to win the midterms, the global economy is in the dumpster and people always blame the incumbent

Extremely possible, but it's hard to say until midterms hit.
