i still haven't fully gotten over the absolute devastating loss i felt when i tried to order the book after reading the title and nothing more then realizing it doesn't come out for like 3 years :uhuh:

The Stand was already a series of short stories set the Stand universe.

For the most part, everyone was doing their own independent thing for the first 2/3 of the book and their actions had zero impact on anyone not in their immediate vicinity.

I can't wait to see how King shoehorns anti-trump into this one though. THE VIRUS WAS OFFICIALLY NAMED CODIV AND ALL THE DEATHS WERE BECAUSE OF PRESIDENT DRUMP

if by "short stories" you mean "connected stories all moving in the same direction" then sure

i think stephen king has like one of the short stories in the book. the rest aren't written by him. i can't imagine him forcing that bullshit in to this beloved story set in the early 90s.

I can. Did you not see how hard he put anti-trump lines in his recent books? He may not be able to namedrop in his 90s book, but he can certainly allude to trump.

And "moving the same direction" is kind of a stretch. More of a lazy beeline.

they started dreaming about magical black lady in the first like 1/3rd of the book and grouping up about the same time on their way west. almost right after the world/plague/characters got introduced/explained.
