Threads are meant to discuss the happenings of the subject, compile information and make fun of what they do. but persnly I hate the farm's forum style system. its butt. maybe the one thing reddit got right is its layout and upmarsey system.
forums work ok for small discussions with a small handful of people. like on a car site.
you discuss an issue, there's like 10 posts, its (hopefully) solved, and there you go. its online forever for posterity.
the chronology is actually relevant bc how the diagnosis and eventual solution played out is all in order
when you have 100s of people all trying to comment in the same thread and it goes on for months/years and has hundreds if not thousands of pages its rediculous
at that scale the idea of putting everything in chronological order breaks down. it just makes no sense. why run a website like that??
