I honestly think it's going to die within a decade. It's not even a discussion forum anymore. You have to put on a performance to post there. It's so hostile to discussion

Unironically the old good part of reddit anymore are a handful of video game and hobby subreddits where the majority of posts are actually about the topic at hand. If you can get news and updates or just talk about and showcase the game/hobby in question, then things are fine. The problem remains that reddit's broader userbase and admins are terminally wingcucked, so all it takes is one bad actor to turn that innocuous subreddit into a purity spiral.

See: literally every time some :marseytrain: posts "X thing says trans rights" and the entire subreddit gets derailed into bending over backwards to appease them. If the mods try to keep things actually on subject, :!marseytrain:s harass the admins until they're given mod powers on the subreddit as well. See also: the 40k Custodes sub, where people were posting their paintjobs and talking about rules before GW hamfisted female custodes and suddenly the mods went 1488 on the userbase, killing dissent while insisting that it had always been this way.
