This happened on New Years and I don't know if someone already posted it nor do I care that it's a week old
Markiplier (the only popular youtube who hasn't touched a kid 
(yet??)) and also the most handsome 
between christmas and new year's, banned most of his subreddit mods, instated new mods, and laid out a couple of new rules (very very understandable rules, like "don't re-upload paid content or content I personally deleted from my channels")
The janny seethe is astronomical

The strange thing is: most of these mods were inactive and shouldn't even be bitching at all 
(I guess I too wouldn't do my job if I wasn't being paid!)

Mods are normally the first people to turn on the personality when anything goes wrong. This is a great move.
Like when the Between The Buried And Me guitarist got accused of r*pe (falsely) and the entire groomercord mod team quit and released a statement demanding he be removed from the band.

Really this could be generalized as "People who are really invested in a thing for a long time are likely trying to find a way out"
Bit long, kinda clunky, but it happens all the time. It's always the mega-fans who blow things out of proportion and drop their former obsession like a bad habit.

I think it happens because they wanna save face - like the parasites they are, they only care about their own reputation and will throw anyone under the bus in a heartbeat
