I think part of the drama is about wow and his gameplay as a mage, especially for neurodivergent wow g*mers.
But I think the big reason this drama has legs is that a lot of people have been slowly building a dislike towards Pirate Software over the last year or two but haven't really fully realized it until now.
To me he gives off a swarmy know it all attitude in his clips and he acts like an expert in so many different things it started to make me have doubts he really knows what he's talking about. Seeing him roach out and deny any real accountability on what he could have done better helped cement these negative feelings I had. It's nice to see so many others feel the same

Hardcore is even worse. You die permanently if you die. I was watching PirateSoftware for a bit and the cities are dead. Nobody is around except the streamers in that OnlyFangs guild, and people take everything so seriously since you perma-die for a mistake. No fun in the game since you can't LEEEROOOOY anything.

Yeah like I can't fathom anyone that actually has a life doing hardcore. Classic levelling is already a time consuming pain in the butt where casually it would take you all day to hit lvl 10 if you didn't know how to min max.
And the chance of death is very high if you're not a class with a frickton of utility to save yourself. Paladins can at least bubble hearth lmao.
And I don't trust blizzard servers and hardcore mode ever since I lost some decent HC chars in diablo3. Fricking rubberbanding bullshit.

The thing is nobody would really care that he got anyone killed if he just said "I fricked up, my bad". He isn't even the first one to get someone killed during this event. Even if people still got mad at him he'd have way more defenders at this point. I little bit of humility would be endearing. All his reaction to everything has accomplished is exposing more people to his massive undeserved ego which only drives more hate his way.
