Calling Thor a roach in WOW context is appropriate considering dude just ran. Obviously hate brigading and death threats isn't ok but none of that would've happened if Thor took accountability, didn't handle this drama in the worst way possible and didn't triple down despite being wrong.It's a classic example of Streisand effect in action. The frick are you doing bro?The group had members who just woke up. They went in for a run completely unprepared and forgot all the items they needed to do the strat they wanted to do. They nearly wiped due to idiocy but escaped. A short while later, they went back in and AGAIN were unprepared and not paying any attention. They pulled 2 packs and the boss. At this point - the run was already fricked by the other players lack of competence.The call went out to run, again, and the group started to bail.Pirate was not wanting to get caught in the mess that an unprepared and unaware group had caused for a second time. Yes, he was also chatting and didn't call out the boss incoming, but it isn't a mages job to control where the tank pulls mobs to fight.While they fled, before it was clear they were completely screwed, the idiot druid started yelling asking "The frick are you doing bro", and calling people back to 'salvage' the fight. (He caused the healers death through this because of a ca... (6)

To be fair it's just a game doesn't work in this particular instance since it's wow HC. Idk if you know much about wow HC but it's an mmo that you decided to turn on perma death. Still takes dozens or hundreds of hours to get anywhere and you can lose all that in just a moment because other people made mistakes.It is crazy to me to play perma death in an mmo but it's fair to say you cant use "it's just a game" in this kind of situation. Because this is a game culture he has grown up in and was shaped by. I do not understand why people are surprised. Thor comes across as a really cool guy when he's dealing with the business side of streaming, or his ferrets or anything else. He was a peepee in that dungeon, and probably a peepee in Eve ( I didn't play Eve). Plenty of people are kind of peepees in video games. This isn't uncommon, he's a good player and being a good player he gets a bit of an ego that he's a really good player. And then something goes wrong and he makes a bad call, and that bad call leads to two or three more bad calls. Someone in his guild is probably going to DM him when this cools down going "hey man, you were kind of a peepee for this" And that will be the end of this because this is a completely normal interaction in any hobby where you stress yourself out for fun. There's an economic incentive. When a streamer is big they make silly amounts of money but they can get banned for TOS breaking shit going on their chat.

True. Even the streamers with paid janitors still have community volunteers doing it for free.

But I think you can divide them in a few categories, the parasocial: enjoys being part of a "famous" person's clique, the redditor: would murder his own mom for a smidge of power and the male feminist: just a few more years of unpaid work and m'lady will notice me.
