Trump knows True Democrat Patriots are in control and will arrest him
Is Dark Brandon rounding up MAGA chuds to have them mass executed in the Capitol Arena? Possibly.
Is Trump's inaugeration committee going to turn Judas on him and install a favored Republican President in a very rare double steal?
Further Patriots plan on executing Operation Lalala I can't hear you

is there a reason the interpreters are always weirdos?
maybe next time pick someone who doesn't have a giant distracting beard making it harder to follow his pasty white hands

Best thing about R's in charge. They don't have them in the broadcasts. It's nothing but unnecessary and distracting performative behavior for the D side.
Also it's evidently a huge extortion scame. Tell a local government that they need to have one at every town hall meeting; say that they'll do it for $500 an hour, and have a deaf victim ready to sue if they don't pay up.

There's no good reason deaf people can't read captions. The bad reason is because the deaf (especially the Deaf) insist on r-slurred separatism that leaves them disproportionately illiterate.

I think it's meant for the deaf people in the audience. And once you've paid for the interpreter, you can just broadcast that instead of paying for captioning too.

There's no way something like the inauguration isn't captioned, too. There is genuinely a literacy gap where many deaf people can understand ASL better than written English -- which are actually not that similar.

Deaf people are weird.

All other things being equal, I'd rather the deaf than blind, but the capital-D Deaf community is so awful that it would actually be a tough choice.

Is there a Blind community that would refuse to restore their vision if it were possible?

I'm not aware of a capital-B Blind community existing the same way as the Deaf community, nor have I seen advocacy against sight restoration. My father used to take me to commercial expos for blind accessibility devices when I was a little kid, so I feel like I would have been exposed if a Blind community existed, at least in the 90s.

I was thinking about this too. Probably only the mentally unwell can stand being a sign language interpreter when any deaf person watching can just turn on the subtitles.
