Redditors have had Enough Musk Spam, jannies unite in solidarity to protest the almighty X algorithm

The South African did another heckerino - in response reddit jannies have taken up their mops in protest to "petition" their userbase about a total ban on Twitter/X links. Numerous subs have already joined, including but not limited to:

r/MadeMeSmile

r/BlueskySocial

r/DnD

r/nba

r/pcgaming

r/newjersey

r/formula1

r/hockey

r/chelseafc

r/boardgames

r/CHIBears

r/ffxiv

r/detroitlions

r/OnePiece

r/steelers

r/ireland

r/magicTCG

r/antiwork (carp added this one with jannie abuse powers hi!!!!!)

Is this totally organic? Will it accomplish anything? Doesn't matter, it's a reddit protest!! :marseysnoohug: :snooupvote: :marseyredditavatar:

Bruh I was hoping reddit would relax with the politics since they lost or maybe even have a chud turn like the Zuck's platforms. I have only been visiting a handful of niche subreddits for a while now. If they get infected with this bot agenda posting I'm out.

Reddit is unlikely to do this because of their powerjanny system, unless if the chadmins take away the mops from their powerjannies, the status quo and non-stop /r/politics -fication of the site will not change much.

Tbqf, not counting having a moderation team that works for free (unlike most social media sites where mods are paid employees), from what I have observed in reddit admins, I think that one of the reasons as to why they refuse to curtail the powerjannies is less because they actually agree with the :marseytrain:jannies, and more that from their close correspondence, media attention, and off-site scrutiny, reddit knows how deeply mentally disturbed their jannies are.

Many of these trannitors have had powerjanny status for over a decade now, ruling over subreddits is what their entire lives are centered around now, and if reddit took away their decade-long janitorial powers away, then they would be very likely to off themselves or do a mass shooting.

Look at for example the breakdowns that jannoids had when they threatened to protest some dumb shit last year, reddit threatened to de-mop them, and they caved in immediately, and also the trannitors of the Markiplier sub were de-mopped and wrote gigantic walls of text begging to be re-mopped again because they were literally shakin rn.

Huh? Reddit can easily allow chuddery to flourish by just not banning their subreddits!?

Right wingers are mostly internet illiterate r-slurs, if it's not on the app store they have no idea how to access it.

That's why they'd rather stay on reddit and censor themselves than try figure out how to find alt sites

As soon as 1 subreddit is unbanned, millions will flock to it

Honestly I think it's because they are free labor and changing the system now has a chance to kill the site due to how massive a disruption it would be. It's not like the average person would spend 8 hours a day mopping up actual stuff that needs to be removed so they can't easily replace them without paying people to do it. And since their politics mostly align they choose to let the wingcuckery slide.

Yeah i don't think admins care if the people curating their site have their gay little tantrums from time to time or if they kill themselves, but they would wreak absolute havoc on the site if they were actually able to organize and do something meaningful.

But if they had the ability to properly organize, they wouldn't have to spend 10 hours a day moderating reddit. It's a type of toxic mutualism where they feed off the worst desires of each other.

If I were reddit I would be working to subtly take power away from jannies and limit their control. But I'm guessing that they actually prefer the power janny option because they are willing to spend like all day every day moderating, which no normal person would be willing to do.

They had an announcement about AI jannying and /r/modcoord had a meltdown that Reddit was trying to replace them with AI lmao.

They are. Switching the subreddit to private or NSFW requires a justification, now. :marseyspez:

I think reddit is in this weird place where they want to be part of the big boys club along with xitter and Boomerbook. However, they're still the fat nerd of social media sites in that it's got a learning curve to it, the users are considered low value to advertising, and the moderation is outright hostile to new users. However, reddit absolutely requires that free labor provided by that army of shutins to clean it up, at least until AI can come in and do their jobs. They absolutely know that they're degenerate freaks that hurt them long term, but are required to keep the site chugging along. Until then they're going to be stuck at the D&D table with 4chan and Bardsky, while Meta and Xitter are out shoving Reddit on a locker and banging the prom queen.

Its also more likely to be botted since its all pseudo anonymous comments anyway

Yeah, the chadmins share the same ideology as the jannies. I had a dumb argument with snally about thus, so if you get push back, it's going to be from r-slurred redditors (please excuse the repetition).

:marseyexcitedgif: (of course theyll do the former over the latter thankfully)

I thought they didn't nationalize all the subs because running a sub is supposed to be like running a forum

Tap out neighbor.

Reddit's been going slowly insufferably leftoid ever since tencent got their chinky fangs into them.

But I like my meme subreddits that pop up every few months and get banned, along with /r/groomercordvideos, and LSF during the current classic WoW hardcore arc.

I do need to stop wasting time on social media though and cutting reddit might help with that

Just a heads up LSF had a mod coup about a year ago and all the new mods share a private groomercord with the big streamers where they curate the clips that are allowed and not allowed

Jump in the discussion.

they were doing something similar before tbh. Always hated that aspect and that it's mostly mid clips of the exact same streamers with 0 entertainment value unless you parasocially follow them already. I actually stopped watching LSF a long time ago, but I've been watching it recently because of the WoW classic hardcore stuff. When that ends I will stop watching again.

It's the reason PirateSoftware had 20 clips a day posted to LSF pooping on him for everything from faking his voice to leaving a dungeon too fast in a video game. He's unlikeable and not a part of the clique, so they allowed that. Try to flood LSF with negative shit about Hasan or any lefty popular streamer and it gets shut down.

Yeah the subreddit is complete garbage most of the time. I just like the WoW classic hardcore stuff for some reason.

Hopefully...maybe the sportsball-sub jannies actually conducting TXD (Total Xitter Death) might help me in my own brainrot as well :marseysweating:

...also...boy did I spend way too much time looking at "ha ha, what is furry and/or porn is akshually epic Metal Gear Rising/Ricardo/troll bait-n-switch!" videos from that very sub back in the day...heh, good times...

Things got a little chuddier right after the election when some people realized there might be a bit of wool being pulled over their eyes. But it's gone straight back and is probably back to maximum red-pol levels.

They really don't realize this kind of temper tantrum nonsense is exactly what loses them support

Twitter is gay and has always been gay way before Elon but banning links is silly nonsense. /r/NBA is lucky it's not the off-season because 90% of their content is x links

Just got banned from /r/Texas for thanking Abbott for fixing the grid and the power not shutting down. The Jannies will never let it go

Granted it was a shit post but it violated no rules and they muted me before I could even ask for an explanation
