This is a silly post lol I love living in Japan, but it was not easy to get here. You cannot just move to Japan because you want too. You also underestimate how soul crushing those teaching jobs actually are. People on those salaries are just barely getting by. Gay marriage is not even legal here and Japan is a much more conservative country than most people think

The standard counterargument is always:
"In Japan people who buy that stuff are a minority are shunned!"
But I've seen no evidence that this is true, and in fact, Japanese people tend to revel in it. Even if they aren't into CP or panty vending machines, they're proud of their country for being so weird. They like being perverts, and living with perverts.

Short version: where else? White people are evil, brown people are scary, swamp asians are gross. It's either Korea or Japan. Korean dramas show too much reality. Escapist anime is everything they want out of life.

They mentally are teenagers. Little internal agency or values, they have to get these externally, socially. They want control over their life but don't know how to get it or what to use it for. SJWing offers simple instructions and morality for exercising control over others. It's vapid of course, they're just one conformist bully in a pack of thousands, but it feels like power.
They have only two pastimes: consuming social media, and consuming adolescent media that was recommended to them on social media. Their understanding of the world is based on what they're told on social media and stories from TV, movies, and podcasts.
Japan is THE purveyor of teenage power fantasies. You're the most special person ever, for free, and being good is easy. And you're hot. Oh, and there's no darkies (wokescolds are incredibly racist). It slides perfectly into the SJW mindset.
They picture Japan as high-tech, urbanized, cutesy, polite, atheist, rich, quirky, and welcoming. It's the whitest place in the world, but without whites (or darkies, or poors)!
They think Japan will be a slice of life anime, where everything will be cozy and fun because they are the main character. And they are way too lazy, dumb, and sheltered to even grasp basics like how isolating a massive culture gap and language barrier is. It's not like they've ever sincerely tried to understand people different from them before.

Thinking it was just like some anime where that happened.
