I had this happen once too, he was jist sitting there on a telephone pole. I took a bunch of crappy pics with my flipphone, butt they didnt come out. I also saw a great horned owl flying around in broad daylight at 11am and a bald eagle swoop down and fight with a snake that it eventually killed and flew away with. I love birdwatching! I hope to have a Big Year this year
They don't weigh very much but I imagine one diving full speed at you with the right angle could kill you. That's how I imagined this encounter going down

Today I saw the largest blue jay I ever seen land on my deck in the backyard. It was hopping around pecking for scraps. I wish I had my phone on me but goddarn it was like pidgey huge or something.
today i had a blue jay mimic a bald eagle PERFECTLY and i fell for it at first until it landed in front of me, made eye contact with me, and did it again lmfao. fricker. (bald eagles are common here)
