"but solaris is serious art" what about the ep where brian n stew r locked in the bank? seth explored existentialism better than soykovsky i've never watched solaris so that's just an example but films are basically for directors 2 write an essay and punctuate it with characters who r only there 2 represent concepts. not enough time 2 write characters that actually that feel like real people. television has more time 2 tell a whole story if it's an anthology with no overarching story the episodes are usually short they don't have time 4 filler but if 1 ep is boring, u don't feel like u've wasted ur time n u can just move ahead to the next episode or move on 2 something else. i've never watched a film n thought "this was really good". same with books---they can be long or short some have pictures in them which means they're twice as good. never seen dune, never will--sounds incely
