You might know this guy from a recently posted thread from @BussyBoy where he says some mean things about a dead minecraft youtuber. I don't know if he wants his channel to be associated with rDrama so I'm going to refer to him as Brian.
Apparently BB/Brian NOT ONLY made fun of a dead guy BUT two weeks before he also made a very insensitive joke where he refers to a black minecraft pig as a "pigger". In fact, this issue was so massive that the part where he says it is the MOST REPLAYED part of the video AND sponsorblock has it marked as the highlight of the video.
This generated its own sneeding with many users calling this joke really insensitive.
Not long after posting the drama died down (because preteens have the attention spans of flies) and everything was fine... UNTIL someone brought it up again in the drama referenced earlier.

I wonder if controversies like this could actually work to harden a fan base and build up "immunity" to future cancellations. Like all our man is accused of is being a bit of an insensitive edge lord. So this shifts his audience a bit towards fellow edgy bois and away from soys. So the next time something happens even fewer people will care. Although idk how that looks revenue wise. I know someone like Asmongold is printing money as a right wing political commentator now, but for something like MC having a generic mass market appeal may be better.
Looking at his viewstats https://www.viewstats.com/@_gerg/channelytics there isn't a noticeable change. EVen the video he posted a few days ago seems to be in line with his general video performance view wise.

Cube Dimensions and ibxtoycat have done this, given that both of them recently made videos that are relatively notch-neutral (and very pro-notch compared to most other minecraft youtubers) and they would likely have received much more pushback if they hadn't made relatively edgy videos earlier (Cube Dimensions discussed the Godot controversy, and ibxtoycat has a very famous series on portraying political ideologies/religions/countries in minecraft which features edgy humor and stereotypes without explicitly condemning them). IGoByLotsOfNames also includes memes in his content that would have likely been off limits for a youtuber in 2020 but have become part of gen alpha slang, and he also criticizes Rust for implicitly chuddy reasons by including a screenshot that appears to have a censored slur.

I have lost 2k subscribers, I have still gained more than Ive lost every day, so all in all, it set me back about 2 days of growth.
Video performance is doing good, but has been noticeably effected by drama. Lots of people clicking on video, disliking it and not watching it,
YouTube noticed this and it did not get a 2nd bump on 2nd day like usual.
I will never apologise for making an obvious joke.
Mojang is looking like they are adding cow variants next week.
I plan on making the exact same joke but this time calling them crackers.

Minecraft has named the pigs after the temperatures they are found in (in contrast, wolves and cats have more realistic names), and will likely also name cows just after temperatures, so if any of the cows looks like either of the attached images (which is likely), you could start a trend to nickname it the Florida Cracker cattle, which is named after exactly what you'd expect from the name.
