Like I get we need to upgrade but I'm not standing in line for pc parts lol. My last build I planned in advance and bought the bits when I could find a deal

By we you mean who ? Corporations that develop shit ain't going to rush and upgrade, they will squish every last cent of their last upgrade. Most Redditors also ain't professionals in video editing so it's just dirty g*mers

Eh I feel like there's companies on both ends of the spectrum. Ones that upgrade on a hard three year schedule (great way to get poweredges) and ones that are still rocking 500GB HDDs from 2010 (not that I'd know :marseydepressed: ).

>500GB HDDs

You could have bought an SSD for the same price in 2020 and you're still using an HDD.

I have offered to send a 2TB SSD I had laying around to a "datacenter" before :marseyxd:

I'm convinced that 99% of people who have 2tb ssd still have 500gb hdds somewhere.

You're still using SSDs when you could be using three hundred hamsters all hooked up to the neuralink matrix?

No, I prefer to use 300 hamsters as my neuralink matrix and use an HDD for storage

I meant in general. I have a steam deck for games so my pc is for design and editing work. Ram and hard drive space, multicore performance is more important than gpu performance for me

I really hope that chunks start releasing their GPU's Nvidea is just insane at this point. In the past you could had used excuse "but pc games are cheaper" but now they cost the same

Ironically it's easier nowadays to pirate on ps5 than pc since a game comes out you can just install the pkg of the game but on pc you need often wait for some crack

Corporations that develop shit ain't going to rush and upgrade,

:marseynerd3:, AMD and Nvidia have been pretty intense about this for the past 4 years.

they will squish every last cent of their last upgrade.

They do this too. That's why they re-release an upgraded card and hopefully price it right.

You're a bit of a dumb dumb, but I forgive you. :marseywhirlyhatpat:

Companies are rushing to depreciate shit they own to pay less taxes

Yeah, it's called amortization, butyou don't always want to use a high depreciation rate because it depends on what kind of tax advantages you get with it for each year. There's nothing inherently wrong with this.
