Hillary Clinton's one and only job was "isn't Donald Trump."
Joe Biden's one and only job was "isn't Donald Trump."
Kamala Harris' one and only job was "isn't Donald Trump."
when your only job requirement and campaign promise is to simply not be the other candidate, your voters are opening up themselves to accept everything you do as good, because they don't want to come across as if they are supporting your opponent
Obama vs McCain didn't have that vibe. Each candidate seemed to focus on why they were good absolutely instead of better in comparison.
Biden was a terrible president because he was incompetent, he allowed himself to be bullied into making stupid policies and political appointments, and used the "at least I'm not Donald Trump" line as armor.
Trump was/is a terrible president because he is competent, but is destructive, vindictive, and makes decisions based on how much he enjoys the means rather than the ends they produce.
