This is some legalese nothing burger, that was the killing of a disorderly element of the NDSAP and of German society. The SA were rowdy, violent and the threat by the president in 1934 to declare martial law if their activities were not curtailed led to their elimination. Nobody in German society liked the SA, they didn't even like themselves as some heads thought around 75% of new members towards the latter half of the organization's relevance were former communists. Their removal was inevitable and while it helped remove a rival for the SS it also removed a group of violent criminals from Germany.
