What exactly does trump hope to accomplish with this? The USMCA got really minor concessions with the auto and agricultural industries. Of course there is still some r-slurred trade barriers but most of it comes down to Canadian mandates in their entertainment and their farm products laws against Velvetta type "cheese product", which I don't really mind. Canada is going to impotently seethe and b-word out because the most they can do is tariff our alcohol or frick with electricity a little. Day of the rake of course, but we stand little to gain other than generating seethe by sending Canada into a recession and letting the liberals win up there.

He's complained about border security and defense. Canada has no real military anymore. The government has been leading a decline for over a decade and hiding it behind identity politics and such.

They aren't Hungary or Egypt or Turkey or Israel or some other shithole that is trying to balance American gibs and Russian/Chinese gibs and would 100% turn on us for shutting off the tap, its diet America. Perfidy leafs suck but this is just as r-slurred as Biden blocking the US steel deal in terms of economic self-sufficiency. Do you think Japan is turning against America?
