That's not what xhe said though. "One person of any gender" does not mean non-binary. It's neurodivergentally r-slurred but not that r-slurred.

They already have that, with that definition of any gender. 2 male + 2 female is balanced, you can assign the "any gender" position to anyone and it remains balanced.
They have some issue with that board makeup, so they must have a different definition of "any gender"

If you're putting it in contrast to "male and female" and making a big deal out of "we currently have two men and two women elected so now we must elect a special person of any gender", that does sound very much like "not another man and not another woman".
