This stuff is wild to me, because my 600lb life is all dark and serious, especially the earlier seasons. It focuses on the horror in these people's lives and how fricked up all their relationships are, and they all have the goal to get out of it. Each story is about the bariatric surgery and losing weight so they're not disabled, all this crying and life changes. It only takes 2-3 episodes per person and they're basically recovered or not at the end.
Then the same producers made spin offs like this with a goofy soundtrack. "Oh you fat rascals are cheating on your diets!" for 6 seasons of them being alive somehow.
They have other ones with 1000lb friends or something. Even later seasons of my 600lb life started throwing in silly sound effects and surprised fat person close ups.
